Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology or a closely related field from an accredited doctoral program Established record of ethnomusicology scholarship published in peerreviewed academic journals Established record of robust creative performance improvisation and/or compositional practice in meaningful discourse with above scholarship Ability to teach effectively in a wide range of courses Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community Candidates should have achieved the rank of Associate Professor Fluency in basic computer office internet and collaborative skills Demonstrated leadership experience and skill in faculty selfgovernance and/or department administration Basic fluency in reading writing and digitally engraving Common Western Music Notation Expert fluency in concepts and vocabulary of western music theory
Preferred Qualifications
Experience chairing a music department or in a similar leadership role Basic fluency in concepts and vocabulary of music technology and acoustics Experience teaching in and/or coordinating a lowerdivision music theory and musicianship core sequence Experience designing and implementing department assessment and program review Experience designing maintaining and assessing effective transfer articulations with twoyear institutions
