Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate Accountant to join Finova s remote finance team. This clientfacing role combines handson bookkeeping with financial analysis and team support. The ideal candidate will support the Canadian team and collaborate closely with fractional CFOs and bookkeepers without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
As an Senior Associate you will be responsible for the following:
- Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients building strong relationships and understanding their unique financial needs. Meet with clients periodically to discuss financials and ensure the client expectations are met.
- Bookkeeping: Manage a team that handles day to day bookkeeping for clients. Provide full bookkeeping services and support to clients using accounting software package (QuickBooks).
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare monthend quarterend and yearend financials and dashboards for clients using tools such as Power BI.
- Audit/review Support: Prepare working papers for auditors and liaison with them to ensure that the review/audit progresses effectively.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficient workflows and best practices within the accounting department.
- Leadership: Help develop the skills of more junior staff members by acting as mentor and providing training.
- Professional Development: Demonstrate the desire enthusiasm and commitment to advance his/her professional career with the Firm through education training and skills development.
Required Skills & Experience:
- CPA Certification or equivalent with minimum of 57 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or related field.
- Proven experience in public accounting or similar role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Dext Excel Word and Power BI
- Strong bookkeeping skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
