Our Melbourne team is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop highquality software solutions lead technical projects and mentor junior team members. In this role you will advocate for Continuous Delivery practices driving modern and collaborative engineering approaches to achieve toptier results.
You will collaborate closely with team members product managers business analysts and designers to deliver outstanding datadriven software solutions. Additionally you will play a pivotal role in shaping engineering practices to enhance quality and effectiveness.
With strong leadership support you will take ownership of the technical solutions and design of software working alongside the team to meet delivery goals and building the right technology platform to support these objectives.
As a champion for team success you will facilitate meaningful discussions during tech huddles and retrospectives while encouraging others to expand their knowledge of modern engineering practices.
As ourSenior Software Engineeryour key responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Developing supporting and maintaining software applications using best practices across various technologies to ensure highquality efficient and scalable code.
- Providing input into the target state architecture and establishing strong quality and automation practices for the platform.
- Leading technical projects including architecture design decisions code reviews and mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborating with the team product owners and business analysts to deliver highquality solutions and drive platform delivery using customer data and insights.
- Participating in team ceremonies estimating work and contributing to the improvement of software development lifecycle processes.
- Facilitating Engineering Dojos when needed.
About you
- 5 years of software engineering experience
- Expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript React and frontend development; proficiency in fullstack development with an array of languages.
- Handson experience with AWS
- Experienced in Continuous Delivery practices (CI TBD TDD etc.
- Hands on knowledge of testing methodologies (e.g. TDDBDD mocking) or a willingness to develop further in that area
- Experience using automation tools to build robust automated build/release/deploy processes (e.g. Github Actions)
- Solid grasp of software design patterns (e.g. SOLID Strategy/Observer/Facade) and both objectoriented and functional programming.
- Understanding of containers and container orchestration (docker ECS EKS dockercompose)
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with software engineering trends.
- Deep understanding of software development best practices including objectoriented and functional programming design patterns etc.
