While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time talk and hear sustain posture and intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office and emergency dispatch center setting; to occasionally stoop bend kneel crouch reach and twist; to lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Incumbents are required to work evening night weekend and holiday shifts; incumbents may be called back or held over to maintain staffing levels.Disaster Service Workers All City of Vallejo (City) employees are designated Disaster Service Workers (DSW) by state law (California Government Code Section. Employment with the City requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all DSWrelated training as assigned and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
Veterans Preference Veterans preference points will be applied in accordance with Civil Service Rule 24. A copy of the DD 214 form must be filed at time of application.
