Maine State Prison is seeking creative outcomedriven candidates for the position of Industries Manager in Warren ME. This position will oversee several industries areas of Maine State Prison to include upholstery printing womens industries and will work closely with other facilities to coordinate industry efforts within Department of Corrections.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Selects trains assigns directs supervises and evaluates Industries Shop supervisors assistant supervisors Vocational Training Officer and office staff to enhance program operations and staff qualifications.
- Develops and write industries policies and procedures to maintain an effective and efficient operation.
- Establishes long and shortrange goals for Industries Program to develop and maintain businessoriented work opportunities for residents.
- Determines production schedules and methods to ensure productivity.
- Analyzes products and production costs to determine product feasibility and establish competitive selling prices.
- Examines and evaluates all products to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Selects and reviews work performance of residents assigned to industries to make recommendations to the classification unit and other programs.
- Observes and monitors resident behavior and takes appropriate action when necessary in order to maintain the personal safety of both staff and residents deter escape and reinforcing security.
- Establishes systems for fiscal accountability and authorizes requests for expenditures of industries funds in order to ensure request is appropriate and funds are available.
- Performs regular inspections of areas of responsibility in order to ensure compliance with facility OSHA and ACA standards regarding security and safety practices.
- Identify and develop business partnerships with manufacturers community stakeholders and other state agencies to develop marketable job skills establish markets for goods and/or skilled labor and promote goals to expand all MCC Industries Programs..
- Coordinate delivery of all MSP industry program operations with appropriate department personnel external stakeholders and contracted vendors to ensure efficient operations in the areas of sales marketing safety training and education.
- Attend Correctional industries promotional sales and events.
- Develop business plans and establish goals for MSP industries programs to promote sustainable businessoriented revenue and for work/educational opportunities for residents.
- Conducts staff meetings in order to exchange information identify and address production and sales problems formulate sound strategies and develop effective solutions.
- Attends and participates in weekly prison managerial staff meetings in order to exchange information and coordinate activities.
- Identifies and participates in training opportunities in order to further knowledge of industries program management and operations.
- Implements and complies with human resource laws policies procedures and practices such as: AA/EEO recruitment employment position classification performance appraisals training discipline contract administration human resource components of security protocols of agency information security and confidentiality policies and employee safety.
KNOWLEDGES SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Progressively responsible work experience and/or education which includes at least 2 years in an administrative and supervisory position which demonstrates possession of the ability to manage program operations and employees.
Preference will be given to those candidates with proven ability to manage production processes business management principles program operations and employees.
