You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailKendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a highly experienced and driven Lodge Manager for a prestigious luxury African safari company based in Tanzania. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional with a deep commitment to service excellence sustainability and guest experience to lead the operations of a highend lodge.
Overall operational management of the lodge including guest services R&M kitchen financial and staff functions
Direct line management of the senior management team and indirect oversight of broader lodge staff
Creation management and control of budgets and forecasts including CAPEX programmes
Human capital oversight including staff development performance and motivation
Infrastructure and IT maintenance and upgrades
Security planning emergency response and fire control management
Oversight of healthcare facilities and medical evacuation arrangements
Environmental health management including sanitation waste pest and mosquito control
Coordination of camp logistics including setup relocation and take down
Liaison with local regional and national government and stakeholders regarding licensing and compliance
Partnership engagement with conservation and community initiatives in collaboration with relevant foundations
Accountability for achieving and improving annual sustainability targets
Risk assessment compliance and mitigation across the lodge
Oversight of lodge marketing initiatives including social media and internal communication contributions
Willingness and ability to travel between camps and lodges as required
Continuously develop and elevate the guest experience while maintaining authenticity and connection to the area s heritage
Foster strong relationships with both new and returning guests
Champion the brand s standards and values throughout all aspects of lodge operations
Oversee implementation and completion of action plans and maintenance tasks
Maximise efficiency in procurement processes
Minimum of 3 5 years management experience in a luxury 5star property
Prior experience in lodge and camp management is advantageous
Strong background in hospitality and service training
Energetic and proactive with a deep understanding of delivering a worldclass guest experience
Passionate about conservation and sustainable tourism
Strong leadership mentoring and team development skills
High attention to detail and ability to uphold toptier standards
Organised and structured with experience managing diverse teams
Practical knowledge of maintenance is an advantage
Experience in mobile camping and safari operations is a plus
Creative openminded and able to think innovatively
Motivational and inspirational approach to leadership
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient financial and IT literacy
Fluency in English is essential
