About the role
Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Technician to join the Engineering and Maintenance team in a permanent fulltime opportunity based at the Mater Private Hospital in Rockhampton.
As a Biomedical Technician you will be required to perform diverse technical tasks on a daytoday basis under supervision as it relates to service support of general biomedical equipment and to contribute to the Biomedical teams goals.
Salary range: $39.86 $58.59 (HP L3 per hour plus 11.5 superannuation andaccess to notforprofit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
- Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Deliver routine biomedical technical services and undertake a range of tasks under the direction and supervision of more senior practitioners (for example: acceptance testing of new equipment and routine preventative maintenance of existing equipment)
- Work cooperatively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team under the direction of more senior practitioners
- Apply established methods and procedures in the interests of monitoring quality control
- Independently make decisions and carry out routine tasks in relation to the work that is within the sphere of responsibility (decisions and independence will increase over time)
- Participate in the introduction of new technologies or processes in the work area
- Attend training for continuing professional and technical development
- Participate in 24hour 7 day oncall roster
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Experience with anesthetics is highly regarded.
- The successful applicant must hold at least an Associate Diploma (if graduating prior to the year 2000 or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards) and/or extensive operational experience.
- Restricted Electrical Work License (competencies 1 3 and 5 as issued by Electrical Workers and Contractors Board (Qld)
- Demonstrates a competent level of knowledge expertise and skill in Biomedical Electronic Engineering services
- Demonstrated ability to apply established methods and procedures in completing routine Biomedical Service tasks as well as ability to complete more complex tasks under the guidance of more experienced practitioners.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team under the direction of more senior practitioners
- Desirable to have completed formal IT network training example Cisco education
