Job DescriptionWorking in collaboration with other Intramural Sports Program Managers this individual is responsible for the hiring training scheduling and evaluation of Intramural Sports Supervisors and sport officials for sports such as basketball flag football outdoor soccer softball and volleyball. An Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff must maintain a complete knowledge of the Intramural Sports program and stay up to date with NIRSA and NFHS sport rule changes. Experience as an Intramural Sports Supervisor at The University of Kansas or similar situation is preferred but not required. An Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff will maintain daily office hours Monday Friday various weekend hours with possible early morning hours.

The Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff assists in overseeing the Intramural Sports program and activities by:
75 Staff Hiring Scheduling Training and Evaluating
- Hiring training scheduling and evaluating approximately 12 Intramural Sports Supervisors
- Hiring training scheduling and evaluating over 50 Intramural Sports officials
- Serving as the first point of contact for approximately 12 Intramural Sports Supervisors and over 50 Intramural Sports Officials
- Planning promoting executing and evaluating the daily operations of the Intramural Sports program
- Administering the Official of the Week and Granada Player of the Week Awards
- Administering the Official of the Year Award
- Preparing budget reports for each Intramural Sports event
- Assisting in facility scheduling of the 144087 square foot Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center
15 Leading Staff Meetings and Trainings
- Assisting in the development and evolution of the Intramural Sports Policies and Procedures
- Assisting in Intramural Sports and Recreation Services Staff Trainings
- Leading portions of the BiWeekly Intramural Sports Supervisor Meetings
- Leading portions of the Intramural Sports Supervisor Training
- Leading portions of the Intramural Officials Trainings
5 Supervising and officiating all 6 team sports as needed
5 Other duties as assigned

Required QualificationsAn applicant for the position of Intramural Sports Program Manager of Staff must have:
- Availability to work two office hours per day Monday Friday during regular business hours with some weekend hours required
- Strong written and verbal skills as demonstrated on application material
- Prior experience in team sports
- Current CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment
- Current NFHS Concussion In Sports Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment
- Availability to begin work the week of Monday August 11 2025
- During the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1 have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2 be preenrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3 be enrolled in summer session or 4 be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)

Position OverviewKU Recreation Services is seeking a dynamic Program Manager of Staff to begin in the fall 2025 semester. This position will have supervision from the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports and will work closely with the Recreation Services professional staff. This opportunity will offer the student with a comprehensive and engaging experience to further enhance their career and professional development.
The Program Manager of Staff assists in the daily operations of the Intramural Sports program by overseeing the programs student staff; consisting of supervisors and sport officials. Additionally this student will also assist the Intramural Sports program by utilizing various software programs.
Per the State of Kansas student employees may hold concurrent appointments not to exceed maximum appointment and hours worked levels. However concurrent student appointments must be of matching FLSA designation (exempt/salaried or nonexempt/hourly).
