Description

The Team:
We are excited to welcome new members to the Kamloops Fire Centre Dispatch team comprised of one dispatch supervisor three dispatch leads and six dispatchers. Our established team plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of our crews and aircraft by working closely with aircraft personnel operations staff and fire centre teams. Our team is responsible for responding to fire reports and all communications within the Kamloops Fire Centre. The Role:
As a Dispatch Lead at the Kamloops Fire Centre you will play a vital role in managing emergency response for wildfire situations across British Columbia. Your responsibilities will include supervising Dispatchers delivering their training and ensuring the effective of dispatch duties. The position requires a solid foundation of knowledge and experience in dispatch operations. Furthermore it necessitates the capability to work collaboratively and lead a team under pressure as you will be responsible for mentoring and supervising Dispatchers during periods of increased wildfire activity. This position has full time onsite requirements.
This is a temporary opportunity until September 13 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
