About this opportunity:
Join Cenovus Energy Inc. as a Market Analytics Specialist in our Houston TX location contributing to shortterm market analysis of WCSB crude refined products and condensates. Collaborate with professionals to implement supply modeling strategies and communicate insights effectively.
What youll do:
Perform shortterm market analysis to support trading and marketing activities
Collaborate with traders corporate fundamentals team strategy team and senior leaders at Cenovus
Research and determine fundamental drivers of shortterm supply/demand for crude and refined products in the US
Provide timely market intelligence and summaries to business units and senior leadership
Collaborate with trading desks to develop risk/reward analysis for trading optimization
Generate and present adhoc analyses to support various commercial strategies
Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
12 years of related experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field
Strong analytical skills proficient with P Python and/or other programming languages; Hcomet Spiral and/or other crude value modeling tools Microsoft suite of products
Experience in Crude and Refined Products supply and demand modeling within an energy trading/producer/refiner environment
Expert knowledge of the North American crude and refined products markets key infrastructure
