About the Role
We are looking for a talented Orchestra Production Coordinator to join our Artistic team. Reporting to the Orchestra Production Manager this role will support the delivery of all operational orchestra requirements ensuring they are met on a daytoday basis inclusive of coordination of pit setups in rehearsal rooms and in the theatre WH&S requirements asset management and maintenance and related administrative support.
This is a permanent role.
Orchestra Operations Coordinator
Support the operational planning and logistics for the Opera Australia Orchestras seasons and projects.
Arrange and implement orchestral seating plans ensuring compliance with WH&S and artistic requirements.
Coordinate freight schedules and manage equipment inventory including instruments.
Coordinate and document sound level readings.
Set up orchestra seating instruments and materials for rehearsals and performances.
Act as Duty Orchestra Manager overseeing instrument and personnel movement.
Supervise and train casual production assistants.
Work with librarians to manage music distribution and collection.
Assist with instrument and equipment maintenance including asset register updates.
Support audition and fellowship activities.
Perform general administrative duties as required.
About You
At least 2 years of experience in orchestral coordination.
Strong knowledge of classical music opera and the performing arts sector.
Experience with WHS in a theatrical environment.
Proven expertise in orchestral and pit orchestra logistics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanour.
Proficient in computer systems and database management.
A proactive resourceful team player who takes initiative.
Flexible and adaptable to changing responsibilities and work hours.
