This position functions as the construction project lead responsible for managing a project team consisting of construction inspectors office engineers and other support staff working collectively to ensure all construction project work is performed in accordance with the contract documents. Primary responsibilities include;
Knowledge Skill and Ability:
Considerable knowledge of civil construction work practices and principles utilized on complex CTDOT highway and bridge construction projects; skill and ability to analyze and evaluate constructability issues and provide effective solutions; considerable technical skills and understanding of CPM schedules preparation of engineering and administrative reports; strong leadership skills and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
Minimum Qualifications General Experience:
Eight 8 years of related experience in various capacities working on applicable civil construction projects.
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registered in CT.
Must be able to lead and manage CE&I project staff ensure all aspects of project work are accounted for.
Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Must have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and AASHTOWare and COMPASS for construction management and document control.
Minimum Qualifications Special Experience:
Six 6 years of civil construction field experience.
Four 4 years of supervisory experience providing oversight and guidance to project field forces of a lower level.
Minimum Qualifications Substitutions Allowed:
Ten 10 years of related experience in various capacities working on applicable civil construction projects and a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
