Job Description

Printpack located in Elgin IL is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Graphic Specialist. This position reports to the Press Manager.

This position involves coordinating prepress requirements for customer accounts. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Additional skills are a thorough knowledge of the graphics process as it relates to rotogravure printing and demonstrated knowledge of prepress software.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A college degree in a related field or 35 years of jobrelated experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clearly communicate and document customer requirements.

  • Serve as liaison between customer Printpack Graphics Departments and prepress production.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills. Maintain accurate and detailed notes and records.

  • Process and coordinate art requests in an organized and timely manner.

  • Manage workflow of customer orders with clear and concise understanding under tight timelines.

  • Demonstrate comprehension of plant graphics specifications and application to electronic artwork.

  • Maintain colortrol files to ensure consistency in press run

  • Perform variety of administrative duties for Graphic Department

  • Proofread and look for print defects

This position requires strong skills in the following areas:

  • Printing packaging and prepress experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Analyzing / problem solving / diagnosing

  • Planning / implementing / executing

  • Reviewing / evaluating / documenting

  • Organizing / prioritizing

  • Learning / researching
