Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the educational needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a temporary parttime 0.559 FTE) Junior High and Elementary Teacher at Fort Saskatchewan Christian. Subjects include Grade 4 Math and Social Studies and Junior High Outdoor Education.FTE could range up to 0.735 depending on the candidates fit to take on teacher chaplaincy work.
Fort Saskatchewan Christian serves approximately 430 students in kindergarten to Grade 9 with 23 teaching staff and 13 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan AB approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park AB.
Fort Saskatchewan Christian offers an Alternative Christian program with a mission to assist families by providing students with a Christcentred biblically directed education that instills the vision and practice of excellence in academics moral character and services to others.
Alternative Christian schools within EIPS follow the regular provincial curricula interpreted from an Evangelical Christian Philosophy. Applicants should include relevant information about their Christian philosophy of education in their cover letter. A teacher in this program is expected to bring a Christian viewpoint to issues and topics from all curricular areas.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
