Job Description
Applications are invited from teachers with
BC Certification for the following teaching position:
North Island Secondary School Port McNeill BC
0.57 FTE Temporary English 8 (one block) and Social Studies 8 (one block)
Commencing: ASAP until June 30 2025
or return of the incumbent whichever comes first
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- completion of a Bachelor of Education;
- certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification Branch;
- academic training qualifications and recent successful experience teaching secondary level English and Social Studies;
- strong classroom management skills;
- the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
- the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning;
- strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and
- ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.
