- Author proposals to secure external funding and support longterm research initiatives.
- Prepare reports deliverables and presentations for funding agencies and collaborators
- Serve as a research advisor committee member and mentor for graduate students
- Supervise and mentor junior faculty members and postdocs; offer guidance on research strategies project management proposal writing and professional development
Required Qualifications:- Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Materials Science or a closely related field
- Proven ability to secure external funding
- Experience mentoring graduate and undergraduate student research.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior faculty and research staff.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a commitment to personal accountability.
- Documented evidence of excellent written communication skills including materialsrelated publications in highimpact journals and presentations at professional conferences.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in administering multimilliondollar project budgets.
- Direct experience in conducting research funded by major Federal Government entities such as the Department of Defense Department of Energy and National Science Foundation.
- An outstanding record of service contributions including outreach and recruitment activities.
Physical Demands- Must have a valid drivers license
- be able to lift 50 lbs walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to function effectively in laboratory or pilot plant environments whilewearing personal protective equipment including respirators (fit testing may be required) steeltoed shoes hard hats safety glasses or goggles hearing protection fire ant suits and other PPE as designated by the safety officer and/or project manager.
