Key Responsibilities
As the Insurance Broker Relations Specialist you will play a vital role in strengthening relationships with brokers while supporting their professional development and business growth. Your responsibilities will include:
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers across Alberta to understand their needs and priorities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor ensuring brokers are aware of resources training and opportunities available to them.
Education and Advocacy:
- Promote educational programs and initiatives designed to enhance brokers knowledge and professionalism.
- Act as an advocate for brokers by relaying their feedback to internal stakeholders and shaping programs that address their concerns.
Travel and Outreach:
- Travel extensively within Alberta (up to 50 to connect with brokers host events and deliver presentations.
- Represent the organization at industry events conferences and networking opportunities.
Operational Support:
- Assist brokers with navigating licensing requirements and regulatory processes.
- Contribute to the development of tools programs and campaigns that benefit members and their businesses.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience:
- A Level 2 General Insurance License is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial insurance or related fields.
- Previous experience in a brokerfacing or relationshipfocused role is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and presentation software.
- Strong knowledge of insurance practices regulatory requirements and industry trends.
Key Competencies:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility.
- A proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
- Flexibility to travel within Alberta up to 50 of the time.
