Job Description
General Job Summary: Responsible for assisting providers with patient care by performing a variety of clinical and clerical duties.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in the delivery of health care and patient care management.
- Provides patient education per provider protocol.
- Maintain patient information in an electronic health records system.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients providers and coworkers.
- Maintain clinical quality assurance standards.
- Ensures clerical responsibilities and patient information is completed in a timely manner as assigned.
- Adheres to the scope of practice per federal/state laws.
- Compliance with HIPAA OSHA and safety standards of the organization.
- Ensure certifications are current and up to date.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical certification required and one year experience preferred.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
Schedules will change as department needs change including overtime and weekends. Travel as needed.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of electronic health records and practice management systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
- Knowledge of medical practice care and terminology.
- Knowledge of examination diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Skills:
- Strong skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.

- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong teamwork skills.
Abilities:
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.

Equipment Operated: Standard medical and office equipment.
Work Environment:
- Medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
- Standing and walking 90 of the time.
- Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking dressing etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
