Why this role matters:
As Data Protection Officer (DPO) you will play a key role in ensuring global compliance with data protection regulations across seven countries (Colombia Chile Mexico Saudi Arabia UAE Oman and Kuwait). Your contributions will help shape our data privacy strategy ensuring adherence to crossborder data transfer laws and building a robust Data Privacy compliance framework.
What success looks like: In your first year you will lead the implementation of a streamlined data protection strategy ensuring full compliance with PDPL GDPR and other relevant regulations. You will establish a risk assessment framework for third parties mentor local DPOs and drive the adoption of a centralized Data Privacy Management (DPM) tool across all regions.

Key Responsibilities In this role you will:
Lead the global data protection strategy ensuring compliance with PDPL GDPR and other relevant laws.
Collaborate with local DPOs to maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and ensure regional regulatory compliance.
Manage Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) for international data flows identifying and mitigating key risks.
Oversee vendor risk assessments ensuring thirdparty compliance with data protection standards.
Own and drive the Data Privacy Management (DPM) tool overseeing consent management data retention and deletion policies.
Manage and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for highrisk processing activities.
Act as the primary liaison with data protection authorities handling regulatory inquiries and responses.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff awareness of data protection laws and best practices.
Monitor regulatory changes and champion continuous improvements in data protection measures.
Qualifications & Attributes:
Education: Bachelors degree in Law IT Business or a related field. Certifications in privacy or data protection (e.g. CIPP CIPM) are a plus.
Experience:
810 years in data protection and privacy including 5 years of fulltime experience as a Data Protection Officer.
Proven leadership in managing and mentoring local DPOs across multiple regions.
Technical Skills:
Musthaves:
Deep understanding of crossborder data transfer regulations (PDPL in GCC GDPR) including Transfer Impact Assessments.
Handson experience with data protection tools (such as DPM) data governance DPIAs and risk management.
Strong ability to manage thirdparty risk assessments for vendors and service providers.
Nicetohaves:
Proficiency in Arabic and Spanish in addition to English.
Additional certifications in privacy or data protection.
