Job Description

ROLE Chemical Process Engineer

SALARYper annum (dependent on experience)

TYPE Permanent

LOCATION West Berkshire

My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team in West Berkshire on a permanent basis.

The Chemical Process Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

At least 24 years of relevant experience in chemical process engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment

Knowledge of / experienced with thermal processes

A degree (BEng MEng MSc or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or a related field

Strong Project Management skills

Strong knowledge of process design scaleup and optimization

Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g. Aspen HYSYS ChemCAD)

Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. COMAH HSE)

Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills

Excellent leadership skills and ideally some people management experience

Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team

Responsibilities include:

Leading the design development and optimisation of chemical processes

Solving problems and improving engineering processes

Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects

Overseeing the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including R&D production and quality assurance

Preparing technical reports documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Pushing for constant progression for product development and manufacturing techniques
