Job Description
Location: Dothan AL
Work Model: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
We are looking to hire a full-time mechanical engineer consultant or mechanical design consultant with a minimum of three years of experience to help support the growth and expansion of our clients company.
Responsibilities:
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems perform design calculations such as load analysis air and piping distribution sizing equipment selection and specification development.
- Conduct fieldwork including design investigations and construction observation.
- Review designs and communicate with clients colleagues owners and contractors.
- Prepare design layouts for commercial and industrial mechanical systems aligned with specific objectives.
- Create schematics for various mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines to ensure coordinated designs and review others work.
- Perform on-site investigations to verify existing conditions.
- Stay updated with current mechanical codes and standards.
- Build professional relationships with peers in other disciplines (architectural electrical structural civil) and manufacturing sales representatives.
- Prepare general and mechanical specifications.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Knowledge of system-specific materials components and systems.
- Basic understanding of advanced mathematics relevant to the work.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills for solving complex problems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with REVIT is preferred but not mandatory.
