Job Description

Position Summary

The Curriculum Coordinator I is responsible for leading data management initiatives to support the Shared Discovery Curriculum. The position involves managing college assessment data streamlining access to student performance information across multiple campuses and running insightful reports on academic trends and outcomes. The position is located in East Lansing but occasional travel is expected between campuses. Early evening or weekend hours may be required to meet project deadlines proctor exams and support college events.

Key responsibilities include managing datasets for endofsemester evaluations and residency matching reports ensuring accurate data tracking and reporting for student affairs. In addition to data management the Curriculum Coordinator I will run academic performance summary reports to provide insights that support curricular improvements. Responsibilities also include updating and maintaining class materials on the Just in Time Medicine (JIT) platform running Progress Clinical Skills Examination feedback reports and processing assessment data to prepare for student dashboard review at the end of each semester. The role involves proctoring examinations to ensure adherence to assessment protocols.

Job Responsibilities

25 Assessment Data Management:

  • Manage the Colleges assessment data utilizing database systems (JIT New Innovations D2L SIS Learning Space etc. and advanced tools such as Power BI to improve efficiency meet the evolving needs of assessment across curricular shifts and ensure that necessary assessment information is accessible across all eight community campuses.

15 College Data Collaboration and Management:

  • Maintain datasets needed for student endofsemester letters.
  • Work with the Office of Student Affairs and Services to create medical student performance evaluations for the match manage residency match records and generate residency matching reports.
  • Fulfill ad hoc assessmentrelated report requests from other College units.
  • Collaborate with MSU Health Sciences IT and utilize other campus resources regarding data storage and reporting solutions.

25 Curriculum Support:

  • Generate and analyze studentfacing and course reports including but not limited to exam results cohort performance and comparisons to previous semesters/years. This includes creating individual student performance reports and summarizing aggregate academic performance at the end of each semester. The individual will be responsible for identifying trends and providing actionable insights on curricular development and educational outcomes.
  • Update classspecific pages on the Just in Time Medicine (JIT) platform with performance reports and other student materials.
  • Process assessments and prepare score results for import into JIT.
  • Provide support for the Student Competence Committee subgroups at the end of each semester by providing technical assistance training members to use the JIT assessment portal and locating relevant materials on JIT dashboards.

15 College Strategic Support:

  • Prepare reports needed for monitoring the impact of curricular changes CQI and other interventions.
  • Responsible for organizing and presenting data in a clear and accessible format for students faculty staff and stakeholders to ensure ease of understanding and effective decisionmaking.

10 Administrative Support:

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing committee meetings and calendars ensuring timely distribution of meeting minutes and written reports. Provide efficient facilitation of conferences meetings and webinars to ensure smooth and effective communication.

10 Examination Proctoring:

  • Proctor examinations for CHM students ensuring adherence to assessment protocols and security measures.

This job description outlines primary duties and responsibilities but is not exhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed by the Assessment Administrator and Director of Assessment.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a fouryear college degree program in Education Health Education Educational Administration or a related field; six months to one to year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience and knowledge of curriculum in the area of employment; word processing database spreadsheet and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Proficiency with Google Docs and Microsoft Office 365 software; a qualified candidate would be a selfstarter with good decisionmaking skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously; experience editing and composing documents/correspondence; familiar with office procedures including management of databases committees and written reports scheduling meetings and conferences and use of the web; demonstrate strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret information and creatively solve problems; ability to establish and maintain collegial effective working relationships with faculty staff and students; experience providing excellent customer service; ability and desire to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
