An exciting opportunity for a Principal Social Worker to join our Child Health & Disability Team has become available in Cardiff.
What will your responsibilities be
In this role you will work alongside a multiagency team of professionals partnering with families to provide comprehensive support. You will take a lead in the team by using the Signs of Safety approach to social work practice encouraging and supporting the team in adopting this approach. Your contributions will help develop and maintain effective systems to ensure quality services.You will engage with MASH in relation to referrals supervise Wellbeing Assessments and Section 47 investigations and work in a multiagency capacity to support families. Attending Child Protection Case Conferences alongside the social worker will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally you will provide a consultation role on practice issues for staff and where appropriate managers. You will offer specialist advice and support across the team provide supervision mentoring and coaching to staff within Childrens Services and support other staff with students on placement to ensure good quality placements and workforce development. Taking responsibility for delegated decisionmaking appropriate to the role will also be essential.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role you must have Social Care Wales registration be eligible to work in the UK hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level and have postqualified experience. You have experience working within a Child Health and Disability Team and providing supervision to students and staff.
