Job Description:
The Finance Lead will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Communications System segments investment portfolio with a strong focus on business cases and profitability assessment.The successful candidate will be a highly analytical selfstarter and collaborative problem solver who is skilled in managing uncertain situations and ambiguity as well as ability to influence coworkers outside of their reporting chain and functional area.
Essential Functions:
- Manage Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and Capital financial plan for the Communications Systems Segment.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure organizational alignment for our investment portfolio.
- Facilitate financial models and business cases for IRAD Capital and other ad hoc requests as needed.
- Review and guide sectors on all Capital requests above 250k for executive approval.
- Support CS Strategy Development function and L3H Technology Office by communicating plans projects status issues and actions
- Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plans.
- Update use of dashboards with key metrics analyze results and summarize findings to support leadership decisionmaking.
- Manage a rotating resource from the finance leadership development program.
- Collaborate with divisional finance teams to ensure accurate short and longterm forecast as well as effective use of investment dollars for both IRAD and Capital.
- Expert point of contact for IRAD financial database. Provide guidance training and continued evolution of templates.
- Participate in compressive Communications Systems monthly financial review process.
- Additional support and leadership of ad hoc Communication Systems FP&A projects and deliverables as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting Business or related field and minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Finance or Business Administration and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in finance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience using enhancing and creating Power BI dashboards
- Financial modeling in Microsoft Excel
- Strong planning organizational and analytical skills; be selfdirected proactive and possess good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Highly motivated worker comfortable working independently in a deadline driven environment where accountability and attention to detail are critical
- Strong written and oral communication skills project a professional demeanor and be capable of working effectively with junior to upperlevel coworkers
- Demonstrated ability to meet schedules and time frames consistently
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in New York State is $107500 $199500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
