Description
Analyzes management and operational problems and formulates mathematical or simulation models of problems for solution by computers or other methods. Defines data requirements gathers and validates information as well as applying judgment and statistical tests. Performs verification and testing of model to ensure adequacy or determines the need for reformulation. Prepares reports defining the problem evaluation and possible solutions. Assists in evaluating implementation and effectiveness of research. Assists in the design conduct and evaluation of operational models where limited data exists to formulate a model.
Clearance
A current TopSecret/SCIwith polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
Experience
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research Industrial Engineering or Management Science. Ten 10 years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques is required; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research Industrial Engineering or Management Science. Eight 8 years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques is required; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research Industrial Engineering or Management Science. Six 6 years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques is required.

- Supporting Y544 (Enterprise Operations Research) across a variety of OR projects
- Most important is experience using a variety of modeling approaches as necessary for solving the problem (statistical models simulation optimization etc..
- Experience gathering modeling requirements from stakeholders
- Experience preparing reports of modeling approach and results and briefing modeling results to stakeholders
- May help in the development of training materials in Operations Research techniques such as optimization and simulation
