As a Data Scientist Lead within PNCs Balance Sheet Analytics & Modeling organization you may be based in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia PA Cleveland OH Tysons VA New York City Wilmington DE Dallas or Houston TX. This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely at managers discretion.
Preferred Experience:
Masters degree in data science computer science engineering applied mathematics or a related field. A PhD degree is preferred but not required.
At least 5 years of experience with direct data science or machine learning projects in industry with 2 years specifically in NLP.
Strong background in Mathematics and Statistics.
Very strong expertise in data collection cleaning preprocessing and transforming of data.
Expert programming skills in Python Spark and SQL.
Experience with big data platforms.
Experience in transfer learning and in fine tuning opensourced transformer models like BERT.
Ability to collaborate within and between crossfunctional teams; excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicate technical concepts and results to both technical and business audiences
API experience preferred
Curious hardworking and detailoriented and motivated by complex analytical problems.
Experience with cloudnative model development and deployment preferred.
Experience managing and/or mentoring technical individual contributors
Enjoys teaching mentoring and building relationships with business partners across the organization
Prioritizes pace over perfection and is comfortable in the face of changing circumstances and business priorities
Excited by the prospect of delivering value through the application of emerging technologies and techniques.
Previous experience in financial services industry is not required but is considered a plus

Job Description
- Directs and consults on analytical projects that leverage vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights.
- Directs the data gathering data processing and data mining of large and complex datasets. Provides deep technical expertise to advance the data science capabilities of analytics teams.
- Serves as a representative of PNC; understands the needs and challenges PNC is facing and provides thought leadership around data science activities both internally and externally.
- Supervises the implementation of advanced analytics projects and as an expert in the field helps other data scientists present the analytical processes and outcomes to management.
- Partners with Data Architects Data Analysts Data Engineers and Visualization Experts to develop datadriven solutions for the business.

Work Experience

Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $80000.00 $209300.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location market data and on individual skills experience and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company business and/or individual performance.
