Applications are invited for the following position in School District #67 (Okanagan Skaha).
DISTRICT OFFICE INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
1. Continuing fulltime 1.00 f.t.e. effective 25.09.01. Initial assignment to District School Psychologist and School Counsellor.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Conducts intellectual and academic assessments of students who exhibit educational and social difficulties for the purpose of developing intervention strategies and program placement of students with diverse abilities.
- Works with the school team in the development of the IEP and assists with its implementation.
- Consults with the school and district staff in the design implementation monitoring and evaluation of the intervention measures.
- Provides written reports on all formal casework.
- Consults with teachers principals and the Director of Instruction Inclusive Education in the development of policy and programs at the school and district level.
- Provides formal inservice sessions for teachers parents and other professionals for the purpose of developing and upgrading their knowledge and skills.
- Promoting collaborative team approach to increase more active teaching and learning competencies
- Conducts and disseminates research relevant to the needs of students in the school district.
- Assists in accessing community supports and services for students
- Establishing liaison and transitions with preschool and postsecondary services in the community which provide programs for students with diverse needs
- Identifying students for potential Inclusive Education designation based on Ministry criteria
- Minimum requirement of a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology with Level C Assessment.
- Registration with the BC College of Psychologists
- A certificate of qualification issued under the Teachers Act preferred

The starting annual salary for a fulltime category 6 position as of July 1 2024 ranges from $74681 $109520 with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. Salaries are prorated for parttime positions.
