Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Lead Technical Revenue Accountant to help us scale the future in a fastpaced environment thats growing rapidly.
Our Lead Technical Revenue Accountant will ensure the accuracy scalability and efficiency of revenue recognition for GoFundMes highvolume global transactions. As a key strategic partner for newly developed product initiatives youll develop and scale systemenabled compliance and reporting frameworks that expand and transform our platform capabilities. Youll also collaborate closely with Finance Product Engineering and Operations to shape robust data workflows address evolving payment processing needs and ensure endtoend compliance with accounting standards. By refining complex accounting processes and integrating new offerings in a controlled scalable manner this role drives highimpact initiatives and fuels continuous improvements. The Job
- Develop and optimize scalable automated accounting processes to support evolving revenue streams while driving operational efficiency and compliance establishing project management frameworks to streamline technical and gotomarket accounting initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on new business models and product launches assessing revenue implications and aligning with accounting standards.
- Research document and implement revenue recognition policies (ASC 606 reviewing revenuerelated contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design implement and test revenue recognition systems enhancements and ERP integrations focusing on largescale data workflows from payment platforms.
- Engage crossfunctional teams (FP&A Accounting Legal Tax Product) to develop standard operating procedures that ensure topline integrity and proactively drive accuracy compliance and readiness for new revenueimpacting initiatives.
- Track and review revenue related contracts to ensure revenue implications are documented and in compliance with the companys revenue policy.
- Engage and align multiple business partners such as FP&A Accounting Legal Tax Product in the development of standard operating procedures as they impact the revenue process and top line results and proactively ensure that all revenue impacting activities are thoroughly assessed for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain robust internal controls to mitigate revenuerecognition risks and support timely accurate close cycles including journal entries reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist in adhoc analyses and projects for the revenue finance accounting and tax teams leveraging datadriven insights to support strategic decisionmaking and organizational growth.
You
- 5 years progressive accounting experience combining public accounting fundamentals with industry exposure and a focus on revenue recognition.
- B.A. or B.S. in Accounting Finance Business or a closely related discipline.
- CPA certification (or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Handson reconciliation experience (e.g. working with payment platforms or fintech solutions) and can tackle complex highvolume multicurrency transactions in a global setting.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (particularly ASC 606 with proven success in researching documenting and effectively applying complex technical accounting guidance.
- Expert Excel skills; experience with advanced analytics or automation tools is a major advantage.
- Proficiency working with databases and SQL across standard commercial databases or demonstrated ability to learn these systems is required.
- Resourceful selfstarter who thrives in a dynamic fastpaced environment proactively drives results adapts swiftly and makes a real impact.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across diverse teams and business functions.

The total annual salary for this fulltime position is $100000$150000 equity benefits. As this is a remote position the salary range was determined by role level and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including jobrelated skills experience and relevant education or training.
