Job Description
We are hiring a Manager Legal for one of our esteemed clients in Kuwait within the Oil & Gas sector. This role is crucial in providing legal guidance ensuring regulatory compliance and managing complex contracts and disputes. The ideal candidate will have extensive legal experience particularly in GCC laws contracts management and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice to senior management on business operations strategic initiatives and disputes.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks recommending practical and innovative solutions.
- Develop and implement governance strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Liaise with EPA government authorities and regulatory bodies to resolve issues renew licenses and ensure compliance.
- Manage relationships with government entities addressing regulatory concerns proactively.
- Draft review audit and negotiate contracts to safeguard company interests and mitigate risks.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management ensuring enforceability and alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in digital transformation initiatives by integrating modern legal technologies for workflow management and compliance tracking.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Law (LLB); Masters degree (LLM) preferred.
- 15 years of experience in legal and administrative roles focusing on GCC laws contracts management JV partnerships and divestitures.
- Mastery of corporate legal frameworks governance standards and labor laws.
- Deep understanding of GCC legal systems and international arbitration laws.
- experience in JVrelated contract development risk assessment and negotiations.
- Experience with EPA government authorities and regulatory bodies to resolve issues renew licenses and ensure compliance with operational requirements.
- Familiarity with legal technologies and tools for workflow optimization and compliance tracking.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector is preferred.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Mediation & Arbitration Certifications
- Compliance Certifications (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional CCEP)
- Project Management (PMP) for legal operations or inhouse counsel roles
- Legal Tech Certifications (e.g. eDiscovery contract automation platforms)
