Job Description

Job Title: Human Resource Coordinator

General Description:


The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator performs daytoday transactional Department duties. This position assists with the facilitation of the onboarding process provides operational and project support and contributes to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR Department and the Career Academy Network of Schools.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in Human Resources.
  • A strong understanding of HR processes policies and best practices.
  • Experience with FMLA and related HR compliance matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel. Google Suite is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal abilities are required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data with integrity.
  • Exceptional organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment are crucial.
  • Candidates with prior school experience are preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: Not an exhaustive list)

  • Respond to internal and external HRrelated inquiries.
  • Maintain personnel records and HRIS (payroll personal information leaves etc. and ensure all documentation requirements are met.
  • Complete the background check process for new hires and volunteers (only when needed).
  • Main point of contact for FMLA and related leaves of absence.
  • Maintain highly confidential data within spreadsheets and Paylocity.
  • Have working knowledge of Employee Navigator and Paylocity and provide support to staff.
  • Prepare and manage HR documents reports and correspondence on general HR activities.
  • Assist with orientations. Generate onboarding packets and update records for new hires.
  • Administrative duties such as job description creation & updates; change forms; file maintenance & I9 maintenance.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activities when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with outside vendors such as sub solution vendor Paylocity and One Digital.
  • Assist with job postings application screening interview coordination and onboarding of new employees.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide support on HR policies procedures and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate employee records process paperwork and ensure compliance with employment laws and school policies.
  • Assist in benefits enrollment and addressing employee related concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal labor laws track certification and training requirements and assist with audits.
  • Support employee engagement programs professional development efforts and other HRrelated initiatives.
  • Work collaborativelywith the Director on Department goals and objectives.
  • Handson experience withHRIS systems is also essential. The candidate must be able to effectively utilize ATS software for recruitment processes.Familiarity with social media recruiting strategies and platforms is preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Human Resources Coordinator is required to attend and/or participate in activities as directed by the Administration such as: Leadership meetings (before or after school hours) open houses commencement exercises participate on faculty committees and study and help resolve school problems.
