St. Annes Family Services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our Shortterm Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) program.

About the Shortterm Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP):

Our STRTP is a specialized traumainformed residential facility that provides intensive care and therapeutic services to girls. The program focuses on addressing the emotional behavioral and mental health needs of clients who have experienced complex trauma. We serve girls ages 13 to 18 referred from foster care DCFS juvenile justice systems or other facilities. Many of our clients are either pregnant or parenting and we offer targeted support to help them navigate these challenges.

What You Will Do:

The Peer Support Specialist provides advocacy services to all program participants by maintaining a healthy therapeutic and safe environment. It is important to ensure the environment addresses the spiritual physical emotional and developmental needs of all participants and their children.

  • Provide advocacy services by obtaining information identifying needs and barriers engaging in problem solving and linkage to appropriate resources
  • Consult with the treatment team to address the needs of the participants and families.
  • Provide inhome support services
  • Identify strategies to address treatment needs and barriers that affect treatment progression
  • Liaison with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Probation Department and other community resources
  • Research community resources and enable participants to utilize the resources
  • Document clients progress within Department of Mental Health (DMH)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in arts or Bachelors of Science degree or at least one year of work experience in a similar field
  • Recipients of DMH DCFS or probation and/or schoolbased services or with live experience preferred
  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents preferred
  • Covid vaccination and booster required
  • Valid California Class C Drivers License
  • Valid automobile insurance

Additional job details:

  • Pay Range: $21.35 $26.95 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday Thursday 10am7pm with a flex Friday 10am6pm
  • Fulltime with benefits
