Job Summary:
Sightline Climate is seeking a Research Analyst to support the collection maintenance and analysis of infrastructure projects data specifically focusing on climate tech solutions such as geothermal power generation nuclear reactors carbon capture projects and new grid technologies. The role involves working with the research team to track update and analyze project data for key infrastructure projects helping Sightline Climate provide critical insights to investors corporates and governments. The ideal candidate will be meticulous with data handling analytical and eager to work in a fastpaced innovative startup environment.
Responsibilities:
Projectlevel Data Collection: Conduct webbased research on infrastructure projects within an assigned sector gathering details such as project descriptions quantitative metrics (e.g. power capacity storage capacity) progress milestone dates and key participants.
Contractslevel Data Collection: Identify and collect supply and offtake contracts related to project inputs and outputs.
Dataset Maintenance: Maintain and update project data utilizing Sightline s inhouse web sing tools public sources and news events to ensure accurate and uptodate information.
Research Assistance: Assist the research team with conducting deep dives into specific research requests and support other datadriven tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant field such as finance economics accounting or environmental engineering.
- Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail; meticulous in data handling and collection.
- Previous experience in analyzing permits project plans compliance documents and contracts.
- Experience in market or industry research including the collection of quantitative data and analysis to draw conclusions.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Interest in Climate Tech: Passion for learning new climate technologies and innovations.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in an earlystage startup environment and a desire to continuously learn and adapt to new datasets and processes.
A Plus:
- Familiarity with infrastructure project development including terminology processes and stages of physical/real assets development.
- Understanding of climate tech sectors either through prior work experience or relevant coursework.
- Experience contributing to project development such as carrying out field assessments or surveys.
- Data science skills and experience with tools like R SQL or Python.
