Director Grants and Community Engagement Organization:Judson Center (NonProfit Organization) Reports To:Chief Development Officer Position Type:FullTime Job Overview:The Director of Community Engagement and Foundations is a vital leader within Judson Centers Fund Development team responsible for driving the organizations community engagement initiatives foundation relations and grant management efforts. This role involves managing key fundraising campaigns fostering relationships with community partners and foundations overseeing a contract grant writing team and supervising a staff member who serves as the Volunteer Coordinator. The Director will play a critical role in ensuring the success of Judson Centers mission through strategic community partnerships and securing diverse funding sources. Key Responsibilities: - Community Engagement & Campaign Management:
- Lead and manage the Community of Caring fundraising campaigns including but not limited to the Back to School Holiday Wish Jerseys 4 Judson and thirdparty fundraising initiatives.
- Oversee the development of campaign materials managing budgets timelines and distribution processes.
- Organize community outreach programs and coordinate events that engage individuals groups and businesses with Judson Centers mission.
- Volunteer Program Oversight:
- Supervise the Volunteer Coordinator who is responsible for managing the Back to School campaign Holiday Wish campaign and the operations of the Wish Room and Pantry.
- Design and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment engagement and retention.
- Cultivate and steward relationships to transition volunteers into roles such as committee members and donors.
- Foundations and Donor Stewardship:
- Identify cultivate and manage relationships with foundations and midlevel donors.
- Partner with the Director of Special Events to recruit community sponsorships and support for signature events.
- Grant Management:
- Lead the organizations grant program including researching developing and writing grant proposals for foundation corporate state and federal support.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of a contract grant writing team providing guidance support and mentorship to ensure highquality submissions.
- Ensure accurate and timely management of grant finances collaborating with the Chief Operating Officer Program Directors and Finance staff to strategically apply for programmatic support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local foundation contacts stewarding these relationships throughout the grant application and reporting periods.
- Achieve annual grant funding targets and ensure compliance with award terms and conditions.
- InKind Drives and Resource Management:
- Oversee all inkind drives ensuring the efficient management of the organizations Wish Room and food pantry.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Volunteer Coordinator and the contract grant writing team ensuring effective management of community engagement initiatives volunteer programs and grant applications.
- Additional Duties:
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall development goals of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of Judson Center.
Qualifications: - Education:Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Marketing NonProfit Management or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience:Proven experience in community engagement volunteer management fundraising grant management and securing funding from diverse sources. Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent people and organizational skills with the ability to connect and engage diverse audiences.
- Strong donor and foundation stewardship capabilities with a track record of cultivating and retaining individual community and corporate donors.
- Expertise in creating and managing community fundraising campaigns and grant applications.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication to effectively represent Judson Centers mission to various stakeholders.
- Competency in using word processing database management (preferably Raisers Edge) PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong researching skills and understanding of state federal and individual grant processes.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work collaboratively and strategically with program directors and other key stakeholders.
- Positive attitude high energy creativity and flexibility.
- Availability to work some weekends and evenings as needed.
