The Role:
As a Human Factors Engineer you are in a midlevel position. In this role you will work under the guidance of more senior team members and apply MTIs usercentered research analysis design and development process. Your primary focus will be on learningand applying human factors principles to assist in creating highlyeffective solutions for complex critical missions.
Your Responsibilities:
Support the identification and evaluation of stakeholderrequirements program requirements and compliance standards such as MILSTD1472 and 46855.
Lead planning and conducting of human factors events andanalyses such as stakeholder requirements discovery anddefinition workflow and task analyses compliance auditsusability studies workload and situational awarenessexperiments and user evaluation events.
Analyze data tosupport design decisions and make design recommendations.
Oversee junior personnel in specific tasks demonstrating yourunderstanding of how various tasks and team member rolescontribute to overall project success.
Independently manage complex tasks and collaborate withpeers to achieve project objectives.
Lead documentation efforts such as Human Engineering DesignApproach Documents (HEDADs) Critical Task Analysis (CTA)reports project briefings human factors test results etc.
Choose develop and apply appropriate tools and standards suchas MILSTD1472 NASA Task Load Index (TLX) Bedford WorkloadScale System Usability Scale (SUS) style guides etc.
Ensure team compliance with human factors standards and bestpractices.
Foster a collaborative and usercentric approach across theproject encouraging knowledge sharing and skill development.
Take an active expert role in technical meetings.
Contribute to proposals and capture efforts.
Your Experience:
A bachelors degree in Human Factors Engineering IndustrialEngineering Psychology or a related field strongly preferred.
Masters and/or PhD Degree preferred.
6 years of demonstrated experience required.
Extensive knowledge of human factors principles usabilitytesting methodologies and HF regulations and standards.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with theability to convey complex human factors findings andrecommendations articulately to a wide range of audiences.
Developing leadership and mentorship skills; ability to cultivate aculture of usercentric design and knowledge sharing.
A commitment to understanding and advocating for the needsand preferences of end users across a program.
