Job Description:
a1. The purpose of the Office Assistant (OA) position is to provide administrative support to oncampus communities at Baylor University. As employees of Campus Living & Learning we expect OAs to recognize the value and importance of the oncampus living experience. In this way the OA should be a helpful resource and referral agent for residents parents visitors and faculty/staff in our communities. OAs are expected to uphold Campus Living & Learnings Customer Service Standards. In addition the OA plays a vital role in the safety and security of our residential communities by being aware of escort and visitation policies verifying resident identity when applicable and communicating issues of concern to other residence hall support staff.

i. Monitor door security and inform appropriate staff if any issues arise i.e. Community Leaders (CLs) Residence Hall Director (RHD) and Safety and Security Education Officers (SSEOs)
ii. Provide administrative support to residents including but not limited to: room access support e.g. unlock codes and checking out equipment
iii. Assist in maintaining accurate log books for unlock codes maintenance issues equipment checkout lost and found and gift registries
iv. Be knowledgeable of oncampus locations and resources
v. Support residents in communicating issues of concern to other members of the hall staff
vi. Enforce and uphold Campus Living & Learning policies and procedures
vii. Complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the supervising RH
3. Current Baylor student in at least their second semester as a fulltime student
Skills: Typing; Ability to learn a computer program for Front Desk functions; Ability to complete administrative tasks as requested; Ability to provide customer service to a diverse population; Ability to work on a team; Time management; Sound judgement to respond to needs or crises as they arise
4. $8.00/hour
