Job Description

Purpose

The Head of Retail Sales (B2C) is responsible for driving directtoconsumer (DTC) sales strategy leveraging digital marketing infrastructure events and brickandmortar stores to maximise revenue. This role focuses on integrating digital commerce retail partnerships and experiential marketing to increase sales volume enhance brand presence and optimise the omnichannel customer experience.

The candidate must have a strong grasp of athleisure lifestyle footwear and backtoschool shoe sales while being able to develop and execute retail strategies that achieve a sales target of Nin the first year.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Retail Sales Strategy &
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive B2C sales strategy that combines digital retail and eventbased marketing to drive growth.
  • Leverage digital marketing infrastructure (SEO SEM social media influencer partnerships and content marketing) to enhance brand visibility and sales.
  • Design and execute an aggressive retail expansion strategy ensuring our footwear is available across major retail outlets malls and hightraffic consumer locations.
  • Establish a B2B2C model by forging partnerships with retail chains and department stores to distribute products effectively.
  • Identify and implement salesdriving promotions including seasonal discounts product bundling and exclusive collaborations.

  1. Revenue Generation & Target Achievement
  • Take full ownership of retail sales performance ensuring revenue targets of N in the first year are met or exceeded.
  • Establish aggressive monthly quarterly and yearly sales targets ensuring retail strategies translate into consistent revenue growth.
  • Monitor and analyze sales trends customer behavior and competitor activity to adjust strategies dynamically.
  • Develop innovative retail experiences including popup stores trade fairs brand activations and exclusive product launches to increase brand engagement and boost sales.
  • Ensure seamless customer journey experiences that drive brand loyalty and repeat purchases.

  1. Retail Partnerships & Distribution Expansion
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers distributors and franchise partners to increase product penetration in the market.
  • Develop strategic alliances with shopping malls supermarkets sports outlets and departmental stores to improve brand accessibility.
  • Work closely with logistics and supply chain to ensure proper inventory management and seamless retail operations.
  • Negotiate retail contracts that optimise margins while maintaining strong relationships with distribution partners.

  1. Digital & Ecommerce Sales Optimization
  • Oversee and optimise ecommerce platforms to ensure strong online sales performance.
  • Utilize social commerce platforms such as Instagram Facebook Marketplace Jumia and Konga to drive sales.
  • Implement datadriven customer engagement strategies including retargeting campaigns email marketing and affiliate programs to boost online conversions.
  • Collaborate with tech teams to enhance UI/UX customer personalisation and seamless checkout experiences on the digital sales platforms.

  1. Event Marketing & Consumer Engagement
  • Develop and implement an eventsdriven sales strategy that utilises inperson and digital activations to drive retail revenue.
  • Organize and manage product launches trade shows influencer campaigns and consumer engagement activations that amplify brand awareness and product adoption.
  • Leverage experiential marketing to create immersive brand experiences that drive direct sales and longterm brand loyalty.
  • Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to develop highimpact campaigns that engage consumers at multiple touchpoints.

  1. Brand & Product Positioning
  • Strengthen the retail footprint by ensuring the strategic placement of products in hightraffic retail locations.
  • Develop product positioning and merchandising strategies that appeal to athleisure and lifestyle consumers.
  • Conduct market research to identify consumer trends competitor pricing and product gaps to inform retail sales strategy.
  • Drive campaigns that position the safety and lifestyle footwear as a premium yet accessible choice for consumers.

Reporting Structure and Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
  • Works closely with the Digital Marketing team to implement ecommerce and digital sales strategies.
  • Collaborates with the Head of Supply Chain & Logistics to ensure optimal inventory management and product availability in retail stores.
  • Engages with the Head of Commercial (B2B) to explore B2B2C opportunities that drive retail sales through corporate partnerships.
  • Works with retail distributors event organizers and brand influencers to expand market reach and drive instore and online sales.
  • Interfaces with the Product Development team to ensure customer preferences and market trends influence product innovation.
  • Partners with the Finance team to set revenue targets monitor sales performance and optimize pricing strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Marketing Sales Retail Management or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail sales consumer goods lifestyle products or footwear sales.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding multibillion naira retail sales targets.
  • Strong experience in omnichannel retail digital commerce and brand activations.
  • Indepth knowledge of retail pricing consumer behaviour and sales analytics.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience leading retail sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of B2B2C models distributor networks and partner negotiations.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools sales forecasting and market analysis.
  • Exceptional communication negotiation and strategic partnership development skills.
  • Deep knowledge of athleisure lifestyle footwear and consumer trends.
