Job Description
Business Analyst
Reporting directly to the General Manager & CFO this role will oversee the companys day to day financial operations. The role is a general finance role encompassing all financial aspects to support the business as they enter their next phase of growth. The role would suit a finance professional that can manage the day to day responsibilities whilst supporting with analysis reporting and compliance with relevant tax laws.
Responsibilities Include:
EndofMonth (EOM) Close Support:
Manage the EOM close process ensuring that all financial information is accurately reconciled to source doucments including making all necessary adjustments. This role will maintain a balance sheet reconciliation file and review the accounts with the CFO on a monthly basis.
General Ledger Ownership:
Manage and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger in line with the budget and commercial knowledge of the business.
Sales Reporting:
Prepare and manage daily weekly and monthly sales reports providing analysis to the GM and CFO to support business strategy and performance tracking.
Management Accounts Review & Variance Analysis:
Review monthly accounts and support the CFO in providing variance analysis to support in decisionmaking and identifying areas for improvement.
Commercial Analysis:
As the business grows there are ad hoc analysis tasks that would assist the business in decisionmaking that would form part of the role. The includes but is not limited to freight recovery duties and taxes etc.
Tax Compliance:
Assist the CFO in maintaining tax compliance for the business. This includes but isn t limited to running reports filling out necessary documents prepare supporting tax schedules and maintaining reconciliations. This also includes collaborating with tax professionals in each region to ensure compliance with relevant global tax laws.
Financial Controls and Process Improvement:
Assist in implementing process improvements to strengthen financial controls and efficiency across the finance function.
Stock Management and Analysis
Ensure production invoices are entered into the system split by timing of work in progress and matched to PO s. The tracking of goods through the production process to ensure correct inventory recognition is a key part of the role which will require weekly attention. This will require closely working with production and completing factory reconciliations on a monthly basis.
This includes reconciling the inventory systems factory invoicing purchase order sand timing of goods ensuring accuracy of inventory and work in progress an important asset to the business.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to support financial planning provide insights and ensure financial alignment across all business units.
Key Skills Required
Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA)
Can demonstrate commercial business acumen and experience within product business preferably fashion retail
Strong technical accounting skills & experience
Understanding of global business finance requirements
Have strong communication & reporting skills
Is confident with financial & data analysis
Held a similar role for 12 years
