The Avionics Manager is directly responsible to Maintenance Manager for the administration and production of the shop. They are also responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work in their area of responsibility is carried out in strict conformity with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the Company MCM/MPM.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities carried out in the shop are accomplished in strict conformity with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards and Company MCM/MPM
- Ensure that all maintenance activities including but not limited to parts changes special processes special and scheduled inspections accomplishment of Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins material sping etc. are accurately documented using the Company Work Order System in order to provide traceability to the work accomplished and standards applied
- Schedule direct and plan department activities to ensure that the work is completed on the scheduled delivery date and with the highest standard of quality
- Perform duties required to plan direct and manage the Avionics department
- Coordinate with Maintenance Planning the aircraft maintenance schedule to accurately determine manpower allocation and needs
- Evaluate and oversee training programs to ensure all avionics personnel are trained in appropriate work procedures safety practices and repair station policies
- Ensure that all shop areas are kept clean orderly and organized
- Carry out periodic performance reviews of shop personnel. Where necessary shall apply disciplinary measures in accordance with the applicable policies in KBAs Employee Manual including documenting actions taken.
- With the exception of shops dependent or mandated to bring in third party business shall not undertake third party maintenance activities unless authorized to do so by the Director of Technical Services
- Shall carry out other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
Qualifications :
- Minimum five 5 years Avionics experience in a supervisory role
- Transport Canada certified AMEE license
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/engineering drawings and technical instructions
- DHC6 DC3T Beech 1900 and/or B200 experience preferred
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Possess the ability to plan schedule and integrate complex events
