The Regional HRPD Director will proactively identify opportunities and offer creative solutions that reflect a strong understanding of business priorities industry trends and best practices across our offices. This position is responsible for providing People leadership across several Western states supporting the District Operations leadership and managing and mentoring several District HRPD Managers. Key areas of focus include employee relations management coaching training & development teambuilding organizational development workforce planning culture and engagement change management talent management and HR project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key strategic leader over one of two Regions in the United States supporting multiple District offices and their Operations and People staff
  • Partner in the development and of PCLs People & Culture strategy in alignment with overall company strategic plans and priorities
  • Be a key influencer in the ability to promote and drive a strong employee culture engagement and retention
  • Effectively manage coach and develop your District People Managers to help optimize their performance to drive the business forward
  • Drive the implementation of HR strategic initiatives that support short and longterm business goals
  • Create a positive team member experience through leadership and implementation of various programs across the life cycle e.g. orientation performance feedback mentorship leadership development DEI professional development employee engagement etc.
  • Partner closely with District People & Culture Managers and the leadership team to continuously improve the effective delivery of HR services and processes while integrating and sharing best practices
  • Lead complex ER investigations including risk assessment and communication/implementation of recommended outcomes/decisions
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting HR metrics
  • Lead the implementation evaluation and measurement of corporate and regional initiatives and HR projects
  • Partner with our PD (Professional Development) team to create and/or enhance employee development and training programs
  • Drive a positive culture through wellwritten and strategic employee communications and activities
  • Monitor People & Culture programs and processes for continuous improvement
  • Work closely with sector Executives and District Operations and People management to ensure that all People & Culture services are aligned with the sectors strategic plan and the needs of the overall organization
  • Liaise and coordinate efforts with sector leaders Canadian COEs and Corporate HR to promote consistency across a wide geographic footprint
  • Identify and manage risk and opportunities within People processes projects or programs at a sector or regional level
  • Support sector leaders in establishing meaningful development plans to build a leadership pipeline and support succession management at the district and regional levels
  • Coach districts on necessary considerations and resolutions for employee relocations employee relations investigations or grievances and terminations
  • Ensure that comprehensive training needs assessments and plans are in place which reflect the appropriate balance of behavioral leadership and technical programs to support both district and sector talentmanagement strategies
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate events such as district business reviews and strategic planning sessions and delivers training at a regional or national level as required
  • Assist in the development and implementation of People & Culture performance standards and jointly conduct human resources operational reviews; analyze data measure effectiveness and work with district HR to identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve client service
  • Initiate workforce planning discussions to understand current and future staffing needs. Incorporate succession planning and leadership development needs into conversations with managers in the District offices
  • Performance Management: Provide support and guidance to managers to proactively address performance issues help develop performance improvement plans proactively follow up on progress and offer advice on next steps with a strong lens on business needs balanced by risk mitigation actions

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Strong preference for those with Constructionindustry or related experience; experience with Canadian operations is a plus
  • 12 years of progressive human resources experience with 5 years of supervisory experience managing geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience in a corporate environment at a Fortune 500 company is preferred
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment in a highlymatrixed organization
  • Naturally assertive with the ability to negotiate influence and present ideas and content that contribute to the sector or organizations strategic priorities
  • Seen as a trusted advisor with superior relationship management skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
  • Working knowledge of Federal & State employment laws EEO wage and hour laws FMLA and ADA
  • Keeps commitments; is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view to engage and to hold others accountable
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize requests while maintaining attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite
  • Strong drive for results problem solving & conflict management abilities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities while leading and motivating leaders
  • Able to apply advanced HR knowledge to define best practices and procedures
  • Advanced experience in training facilitation and in managing complex facilitated sessions
  • Demonstrates experience executing employment investigations
  • Proven ability to lead teams through significant change management
  • Excellent writing grammar and presentation skills; strong Executive presence; ability to influence and be a positive disruptor

The salary range for this position is between $135000 and $165000per annum based on experience and qualifications.
