Job Description
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13week travel/contract assignment in Rochester New York. Both local and traveler candidates are welcome to apply.
Job Details:
- Shift: 8hr Eve
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $600 $720
Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination inspection assembly sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments trays and medical equipment to ensure patient safety and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate clean and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following hospital protocols.
- Assemble instrument trays and ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment including autoclaves and gas sterilizers.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness damage and functionality before packaging and distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory control.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience (preferred).
- Certification: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Skills: Knowledge of sterilization techniques infection control and medical terminology.
