Job Description
As Chef Manager you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all aspects of the kitchen ensuring the highest standards of food quality safety and presentation
- Leading and developing a team of six ensuring smooth kitchen operations
- Designing seasonal menus using fresh locally sourced ingredients
- Managing stock control ordering and food costs to maintain profitability
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety and food hygiene regulations
- Building strong relationships with school staff and pupils to enhance the dining experience
Qualifications :
- Professional culinary qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or equivalent)
- Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3 (or higher) certification
- Health & Safety certification (e.g. HACCP COSHH Allergen Awareness)
- Experience as a Chef Manager Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in an education contract catering or highvolume setting
- Strong knowledge of menu planning stock control and cost management
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a kitchen team
- Excellent understanding of health safety and food hygiene regulations
- Passion for fresh seasonal ingredients and highquality food production
- Strong financial awareness including GP management and budget control
- Ability to work in a fastpaced highvolume kitchen environment
- First Aid at Work certification (desirable)
