Job Description
Principal Engineer (Individual Contributor)
As a Principal Engineer (IC) you will be a key technology leader within our engineering teams driving technical excellence while remaining handson in development. In this individual contributor role you will shape the future vision of the team and ensure our solutions align with business and technical needs across SEEKs Asia and Pacific markets. You will be responsible for the overall technical alignment health capability and performance of the platform while also mentoring and guiding engineers to elevate the teams technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to Joras overall technology strategy and aligning systems accordingly.
- Ensuring systems are wellarchitected scalable and adhere to Joras best practices.
- Maintaining platform health focusing on security reliability resilience and cost efficiency.
- Driving a customerfirst mindset to deliver highvalue solutions.
- Strengthening the teams technical capabilities through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- Facilitating crossteam collaboration decisionmaking and accountability.

Technical Skills
- Validated experience building and maintaining software written in Ruby / Ruby on Rails
- Design develop support and maintain cloud (AWS) native applications
- Experience developing systems which effectively use AWS services and infrastructure as code (e.g. CDK Cloudformation Lambda etc.
- Experience with multiple database technologies including PostgreSQL MongoDB and Redis
- Solid understanding of highly available systems and web scale architecture
- Experience in creating and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines such as Buildkite or Teamcity
- Uses current technical practices such as writing clean testable code and pair programming
- Creates software using secure coding practices and mitigates common vulnerabilities
- Creates and maintains continuous delivery pipelines using current practices patterns & tooling
- Uses data to drive decision making
- Ability to quickly learn new programming languages and technologies
- Comfortable with HTML CSS and Javascript
Desirable Qualifications Skills and Experience
Experience
- Supporting product experiments and hypothesis driven development
- Setting technical practices and processes that enable performant software teams.
- An interest in Distributed Systems Observability software testing or UI Component Libraries.

The Engineering team is the largest team in Jora with more than 30 engineers. The team is split across the four main domains of aggregation candidate employer and native apps.
