Job Description
This is an exciting career opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team based in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance you will act as a business partner to provide commercial and decisionmaking support to key areas of the business including our Roadside Delivery and Membership. Your primary focus will be to provide a high level of analytical support while being responsible for implementation and maintenance of driver costing models critical to achieve business strategy.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Responsible for financial analysis to support the management of business budgets/targets
- Assist in the development of commercial benchmark/KPIs
- Proactive recommendations to business of identified business process improvements
- Evaluation of capital and OPEX investment initiatives
- Build capability to understand product/customer margins and business drivers by developing robust costing models
- Liaise with peers in a wide range of areas including BI finance and operating teams
- Foster a culture of collaboration and information sharing to enable healthy discussion and robust decision making
- Contribute to the development and management of an annual business plan for your business partner teams and regular forecasting
- Work collaboratively with Corporate Finance on the month end close process
- Communicate monthly insights and variance analysis to budget targets to help influence outcomes
- Managing ongoing risk & opportunities tracking
Requirements for Success
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance Business Commerce or Accounting
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Sophisticated business modelling skill with high attention to detail
- 3 years experience in an analytical role and/or in a business partnering capacity
- Networking skills to develop and maintain strong internal relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in TM1 Tableau or similar tools is advantageous
- Experience in costing models in large servicebased organisations (eg Healthcare Emergency Services Telco Subscriptions Airlines) would be highly regarded
