Job Description
Key responsibilities of an Innovation PMO:
- Identifying Innovation Opportunities:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and potential areas for innovation.
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate new product service or process ideas.
- Analyze customer feedback to pinpoint unmet needs and potential innovation opportunities.
- Innovation Portfolio Management:
- Develop a framework for evaluating and prioritizing innovation projects based on strategic alignment potential impact and feasibility.
- Manage a portfolio of innovation projects ensuring balanced risk and potential return across different initiatives.
- Allocate resources effectively to support the most promising innovation projects.
- Fostering a Culture of Innovation:
- Promote an environment where creative thinking and risktaking are encouraged.
- Develop training programs to equip employees with innovation methodologies and tools.
- Establish crossfunctional teams to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across departments.
- Innovation Project Management:
- Define clear project goals timelines and success metrics for innovation initiatives.
- Implement agile project management methodologies to enable rapid iteration and adaptation.
- Monitor project progress identify potential roadblocks and take corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate innovation plans and progress to key stakeholders including senior leadership crossfunctional teams and customers.
- Manage expectations and address concerns regarding innovation projects.
- Secure necessary resources and approvals for innovation initiatives.
