Manager Senior Manager - Software Engineering -RD Energy and Resources

A Senior Manager/Manager Software Engineering (Software Engineering Leader) is responsible for the process of delivering software at IFS relating development investments to the overall R&D Product Strategy as per the 7Stages Development Process. The ability to articulate the What and Why to their teams based on their close working relationships with both Product and Program Managers is key to the success of individuals in this role. As well as working with the DQA to ensure quality is constantly reviewed and is a key part of the planning and execution stages of development.

A Software Engineering Leader establishes and looks to continuously improve consistent development processes in line with the wider industry to ensure the timely delivery of high quality secure and performant software. These processes include but are not limited to automated testing at multiple levels code reviews security reviews and the evolution of the architecture. In addition they ensure collaboration when required with the UX team to deliver great user experiences.

A Software Engineering Leader coaches and builds both teams and individuals and is responsible for appraising their direct reports. Each team member should have achievable but stretching goals to allow for personal growth and career development. Should there be the need poor performance will be addressed for the good of both the individual and the team. Software Engineering leaders play a key role in the recruitment of team members and will look to upskill the team at any available opportunity.

A Software Engineering Leader should also foster good proactive relationships with stakeholders across IFS including but not limited to colleagues in support. Software Engineering Leaders will look to minimize the amount of R&D time their teams spend supporting the product and minimize escalations by delivering high quality well documented software with a right first time approach and attitude. There should be regular engagement with the Support Leaders to feedback areas of concern and take affirmative action to address problems as they arise.

We are now looking for a Software Engineering Leader in the R&D Energy and Resource group. The E&R group is a globally distributed group located in Sri Lanka US Canada India.

As a Software Engineering Leader you are part of the E&R Leadership Team and is an active contributor to the strategic and operational work in the group. You are part of defining the plans and priorities as well as highly involved in the execution.

• Exceptional ability to present lead and inspire teams effectively
• Proven track record in developing highperforming teams and fostering individual growth
• Demonstrated capacity for strategic prioritisation and decisive action
• Commitment to continuous improvement in operational processes and team dynamics
• Resultsoriented approach with a strong focus on achieving successful outcomes
• Extensive experience in agile development methodologies
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or a closely related field is required
