Job Description

This is a remote position.

Position Purpose:

The Assistant Account Broker assists the Account Manager and Professional Lines Manager within the Professional Lines team to develop and maintain customer relationships with the primary objectives of:

  • Delivering excellent client experience

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of PLI Brokers risk & Insurance solution

  • Assisting the PLI Account Manager in developing and maintain books of the business; and

  • Maximising the revenue of the portfolio thus contributing to PLI Brokers new business growth objectives

The Assistant Account Broker is responsible for the acquisition management and development of insurance clients across specific Professional Lines products to specific industries as detailed on your annual Objective setting procedure.


Major Accountabilities of the position holder:

  • Client Support: Providing assistance to senior brokers in managing client accounts including answering client inquiries preparing policy documents and maintaining client records.

  • Research and Analysis: Conducting research on insurance products and markets preliminary conversations with underwriters seeking risk appetites.

  • Policy Administration: Assisting with the administration of insurance policies such as processing endorsements renewals and cancelations.

  • Documentation: Preparing obtaining reviewing and maintaining accurate documentation including policy schedules summaries certificates of insurance completed proposal forms etc.

  • Quoting and Proposals: Assisting in the preparation of insurance quotes for renewals and new business.

  • Claims Support: Assisting clients with the claims process including helping them report and follow up on claims with insurance companies.

  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards including Debtors & creditors unprocessed renewal list.

  • Data Entry and Record Keeping: Accurately entering data into insurance systems and maintaining organized records.

Decision Making Authority: The position holder works under the general direction of the Account Manager for the Professional Lines team. In the Absence of the PLI Account Manager this position holder is expected to provide service and support at a similar level within the position holder s skills and abilities. In relevant instances the position holder is to seek advice and support from the senior team member the Professional Lines Manager.


Accountability Major Activities Measures

ACCOUNTABILITY: RENEWAL

  • Accountable for the management and maintenance of the Renewal Cycle

  • Delegating and monitoring duties including but not limited to questionnaires re quotes invoicing to support services. Review and quality check.

  • Prepare and collate data for Professional Lines Manager to review and present to client. Identify areas of exposure in client s programs to discuss with Manager Professional Lines.

  • Liaising with Manager Professional Lines underwriters and funders as required with particular emphasis on accuracy of documentation.

  • Collate records and documentation to maintain client files.

  • Strive for continuous process improvement.

  • Utilizing the CRM to manage the renewal process.

  • Professional Lines Manager is confident in status of workflow based on updates

  • Ensuring that allocated tasks have been attended to within the agreed SLA s.

  • Utilise the client review screen in the CRM ensuring accuracy and minimum touch by Manager Professional Lines.

  • Weekly meetings with Professional Lines Manager (minimum requirement).

  • Documentation is filed correctly and easy to find.



ACCOUNTABILITY: SUPPORT DIVISIONAL NEW BUSINESS GROWTH

  • Provide support related to the gathering of new business quotes and ensuring all required information is available to the Manager Professional Lines.

  • Assist in the preparation and collation of data for Professional Lines Manager to review and present to client.

  • Other duties as directed by Manager Professional Lines.

  • CRM workflow up to date.

  • Increased new business activity by Manager Professional Lines.

  • Tasks performed in a timely manner based on client needs and expectations and directions provided by AM.

ACCOUNTABILITY: EXCEPTIONAL CLIENT SERVICE

  • Handle Client Enquiries promptly referring when required.

  • Seek advice from Senior Staff on issues outside your knowledge and expertise.

  • Maintain a sound understanding of client s insurance program.

  • Client Feedback

  • Client complaints

  • Client level of trust dealing with account broker

  • Minimal need for Professional Lines Manager to resolve enquiry

  • Retention benchmark

  • Teams phone data (answered calls and return calls)


COMPLIANCE:

  • Ensuring the provision of financial services to clients complies with the Code of practice relevant statutory and industry requirements and codes

  • Maintain ongoing professional development hours as required

  • Assist Account Brokers and Manager Professional Liness with compliance reporting within allocated timeframe

  • Debtors

  • Creditors

  • Unprocessed Premium

  • Action relevant outcomes from compliance reports as requested

  • Number of breaches all breaches to be recorded

  • Audit feedback

  • CPD register


Operations:

It is imperative that the Assistant Account Broker is rigorous with their systems and processes. To do this the position holder must:

  • Regular debtors follow up

  • Regular actioning of diaries

  • CRM and CBS usage and maintenance

  • Complete administrative and general tasks according to the process and as required by the team.

  • Invoicing benchmark

  • Debtors collection benchmark

  • Retention benchmark

  • Outstanding proposals

  • CRM Maintenance issues as per CRM Home Screen

Requirements

  • Previous experience in insu Previous experience in insurance or related fields is preferred. Experience in client support, policy administration, claims support, and compliance within the insurance industry is advantageous.
