Position: Survey Crew Chief

Location: Nashville TN

Duration: Fulltime

Salary: $2635/hr DOE

Job Description:

The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for providing surveying field support for various types of land surveying projects. This position ensures the accuracy of fieldwork and supervises a two or threeperson field crew. The role includes performing field calculations operating and maintaining survey equipment making proper field notes and sketches ensuring the maintenance of crew vehicles adhering to all applicable safety procedures and other duties necessary to complete complex land surveying projects. This position may require outoftown work.

Responsibilities:

  • Work primarily in the field on land surveys including control boundary topographic DOT construction layouts and more
  • Collect survey data per industry and client specifications scopes of work and field manager direction
  • Daily processing uploading and downloading of data collectors
  • Supervise all members of the survey crew
  • Daily coordination with the survey field manager project managers and other office staff as needed
  • Willing and able to continually learn new techniques processes and equipment operation
  • Perform office duties including data reduction field note reduction calculations data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs as needed
  • Perform additional related duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid drivers license
  • 35 years of experience in surveying as a Crew Chief preferably in DOT or Boundary Surveying
  • Experience with GPS Robotic total stations and data collectors
  • Ability to perform tasks and solve problems independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in a survey program or equivalent
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation Inroads and Open Roads Designer and Trimble Business Center Software
  • Scanning and drone flight experience
  • FAA Part 107 license
