Our client is backed by three major investors in Saudi Arabia and operates a stateoftheart facility specializing in sand mold casting and openmold forging. With a focus on quality and efficiency the company aims to produce 60000 tons per year catering primarily to local and international clients in the oil and gas sector as well as other industries. As part of its services the company also supports the marine and engine industries with its offerings.
Currently in a phase of expansion our client is actively seeking a skilled Machine Shop Manager.
As the Machine Shop Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the machine shop operations ensuring the efficient and effective production of machined components for our client s forging and casting processes. You will lead a team of technicians manage resources and ensure the highest standards of safety quality and productivity are met.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daytoday operations of the machine shop including machining tooling and related processes.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient production.
Plan and schedule machine shop activities to meet production targets and customer requirements.
Monitor and control machining parameters such as cutting speeds feeds and tooling to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
Optimize the use of resources including manpower machines and materials to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of machines tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Lead and motivate a team of technicians providing guidance training and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering Quality Assurance and Production to ensure seamless integration of machine shop operations with upstream and downstream processes.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the metal casting or forging industry.
Strong knowledge of machine shop operations including machining tooling and related processes.
Familiarity with a variety of machining techniques such as milling turning drilling and grinding.
Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
