Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oracle DBA to provide essential support and enhancements for our Oracle database and application server platforms. The ideal candidate will ensure the performance functionality and reliability of our systems through proactive monitoring administration and implementation of strategic upgrades.

Responsibilities:

• Systems Monitoring and Support: Offer 24x7x365 automated monitoring and technical support for Oracle databases and application servers including development systems.
• Database Administration: Manage regular database tasks including backups patch management and performance tuning.
• Patch Management: Oversee the application of patches for Oracle products and their operating systems.
• Oracle Technical Assistance: Manage technical assistance requests for database and core technology.
• Installation and Upgrades: Coordinate and implement system upgrades new installations and configurations.
• VMware Configuration: Recommend and assist with the implementation of VMware settings tailored to Oracle platforms.
• Health Checks: Perform initial and annual assessments of all Oracle systems ensuring all systems are documented and compliant.
• Emergency Support: Be available to provide onsite support within 24 hours during emergency situations if needed.

Base Plan Services:

• Automated monitoring of Oracle databases and application servers.
• Monthly accrual of unused consulting hours with clear limitations on accumulation.
• Access to an online tool for requesting and receiving updates on ongoing work.
• Provision of afterhours support contact for emergency and critical support needs.

Mandatory Qualifications:

General Qualifications:

• Available to provide services 24x7x365.
• Expertise in automated monitoring and health status reporting of Oracle platforms.
• Skilled in quality assurance and monthly activity reporting.
• Capable of providing detailed documentation for all performed tasks.
• Ability to respond onsite quickly in emergency scenarios.

Technical Proficiency:

• Comprehensive knowledge of installing patching and configuring Oracle databases and application servers.
• Experience with VMware tools such as vSphere and VMotion.
• System administration abilities for operating systems such as RedHat Linux especially as related to Oracle system management.
• Proficiency in configuring Oracle developer tools on various platforms.
