Data Analytics Platform Architect

Currently we are looking for a Data Analytics Platform Architect for a global enterprise.

The Platform Architect will lead the design and development efforts for our data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves defining the platforms architecture and design principles optimizing infrastructure using GCP services enhancing the data professionals (data engineers data scientists or other data users) experience managing the data lifecycle enforcing security and compliance measures implementing monitoring and performance optimization solutions and integrating new technologies and best practices to drive innovation and business value

Tasks

Define Architecture and Design Principles:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define the architecture and design principles of the data developer platform on GCP.
• Ensure scalability reliability and performance are central to the platforms architecture.

Evaluate and Implement GCP Services:

• Lead the evaluation selection and implementation of GCP services and tools.
• Ensure chosen services meet the platforms infrastructure requirements including compute storage networking and security.

Improve Developer Experience:

• Enhance the developer experience on the platform by streamlining development workflows and tooling.
• Promote best practices to optimize development processes.

Implement Data Lifecycle Management:

• Define and implement data lifecycle management strategies covering data ingestion storage processing and analytics.
• Leverage GCP data services such as BigQuery Dataflow and Pub/Sub for efficient data management.

Enforce Security Measures:

• Establish and enforce security policies access controls and data governance measures.
• Ensure the confidentiality integrity and availability of data on the platform in compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Implement Monitoring Solutions:

• Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions to track platform performance and usage metrics.
• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.

Collaborate with CrossFunctional Teams:

• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including BI & Analytics IT and AI/ML teams.
• Align platform development efforts with business objectives and ensure cohesion across departments.

Stay Updated on Emerging Technologies:

• Stay updated on emerging technologies industry trends and best practices in cloud computing and data management.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and techniques to enhance the platforms capabilities and competitiveness.

Document Architecture Designs and Best Practices:

• Document architecture designs technical specifications and best practices for internal and external audiences.
• Ensure clarity and accessibility of documentation to facilitate understanding and collaboration.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field.

Certifications:

• GCP Cloud architecture & data engineering certifications are a plus.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of deep experience across systems integration platforms and solution architecture.
• Project experience in a cloudbased environment and familiarity with cloud native technologies.
• 5 years of experience with database technologies.
• Handson experience with schema design and definition in a database environment.
• Experience with agile methodologies.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools like GitLab Jenkins and ArgoCD.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
